The Social Justice Committee of the Gloucester UU Church honors our Universalist heritage by emphasizing activities that foster the inherent worth and dignity of all people. We focus our efforts locally by supporting the homeless day center, the Grace Center, located here at the church; the Open Door food pantry; and our own long-established annual Gloucester Citizenship Awards ceremony. We engage actively with the Essex County Community Organization to support regional social justice work, and are fostering anti-racism efforts on Cape Ann with our participation in the Cape Ann Slave Trail project.
